Caput Mortuum is a newsletter about dead flies, spontaneous pulverization, and der absoluten Zerrissenheit. In other words, it is about nothing in particular: nothing radical, nothing eye-opening, nothing of any philosophical interest or value. There is nothing to write about, nothing to be moved by. This newsletter is doomed to failure from the very start.
"The Being by which Nothingness arrives in the world must nihilate Nothingness in its Being, and even so it still runs the risk of establishing Nothingness as a transcendent in the very heart of immanence unless it nihilates Nothingness in its being in connection with its own being.”
JEAN-PAUL SARTRE, Being and Nothingness
Nothingness abounds, but what should nihilate it? What should come into being instead of this nothingness? Philosophical drivel? Certainly, but about what, exactly?
